If a man has a vascetomy and doesn't go back for a repeat check is it poss. for pregnancy to occur? |
My hubby had a vascetomy in 2005, he went to the dr in his 1 month follow for his check up on the vascetomy, but hasn't been back since. Is it possible for pregnancy to happen? Please let me know... Yes, it is possible, that is why the doctor wants him back in for repeat check ups until he is clear. He will have lots of swimmers until what he produced before the operation is used up and the only way to make sure the procedure worked is to do the checkups. YES..Thats why you do a follow up visit to make sure there are no active sperm in the semen. Most men do not go back for their follow up and end up with pregnant wives. Nurse 11yrs i would have to say, YES, my first daughter was produced from a vasectomy. Send him back to the dr. Good lcuk Yes! He needs to get a post procedural sperm count to make sure it worked. It's not a 100% kinda thing. I know taking a semen sample in to be tested is a little embarrassing but I think a few minutes of being embarrassed is better than an unexpected pregnancy. If he's really self conscious about it, take the sample in for him. I'm a nurse and I've helped deliver babies whos father had a vasectomy. Good Luck. Yes, anything is possible. I have heard of men getting their signifigant others pregnant even when they have followed all the check-ups. So good luck. If your Husband went for his check up and jerked off into a cup the doctors would have checked it for live sperm and if there were none they would have told him OK. If there were live sperm they would have told him not to have intercourse without protection. |
