I had both falopian tubes removed, from eptopic pregnancies. Can I still get pregnant by artificial insermenatio Yes, you can. For IVF you don't need functioning fallopian tubes. Only if you have aritificial fallopian tubes inserted. I believe you can I believe that in artificial insemenation is put directly into the uterus to further develope there. Depends. Do you still have your ovaries or are you on hormone replacement therapy? If you still have functional ovaries and your hormones are in check, that AI can work for you. You only need a healthy and functional uterus. Your Dr. may have to do an U/S first to make sure that you don't have fibroids, scar tissue from your surgeries, etc to make sure that your uterus could harbor the embryo but it is possible. Don't lose hope and good luck!! RN Artificial insemination by itself would not help your situation, because if you don't have fallopian tubes, there would be no "natural" way for the egg and sperm to meet up and fertilization to occur. IVF (in-vitro fertilization) would be possible, however, since your ovaries are still functioning even though they're not "connected", and you have an intact uterus. IVF would get around the connection problem by putting the already fertilized egg(s) in from the "bottom" rather than the usual route, which would allow for implantation and pregnancy. |
