Miscarriage and further pregnancy?

I had a D & C 2 weeks ago due to lack of heartbeat. How long do I or should I wait until getting pregnant again?

Did anyone get over the anxiety of their next pregnancy and how did they do it?

I am so worried it will all happen again.

Sorry :( I would check with your doctor, but if i remember right its 6 months, but check...
we were to. but now we have 2 perfect little girls. just try not stressing and keep in touch with your doc, good luck
My wife had a miscarriage when she was 11 weeks and had to have a D & C as well. I believe the doctors told her that we needed to wait at least 3 months to give her body time to recouperate before she got pregnant again. I have to admit that during that first trimester of the next pregnancy we were pretty uptight. But, we eventually relaxed a bit and enjoyed watching our daughter grow. You may never get completely over your loss, but it also wouldn't be fair to your future children it you didn't try to carry on with your life.....it can get easier if you let it.......
Hunii, this is a very heartwrenching question!
First of all, my heart goes out to you. Bless your heart

You should give your body about at least 6 months time to rest.
The reason for this is not only for the toll it put on your body, but the EMOTIONAL strength it zapped from you, Hun.

Take some "me" time and try to enjoy a bubbly bath, a nail or hair salon day.....
before trying again
Best of luck!!!

First of all, I'm sorry about your loss, I can only imagine how hard it would be to deal with something like that.

I know alot of people who have suffered miscarriages and gone on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies, though I can totally sympathise with your concerns.

Im not sure if this is appropriate (I apologise if its not) but a miscarriage is often considered natures way of telling you it simply was not meant to be.

Basically the point I am trying to make is that when it wants to happen, it will happen - at least you know you are able to fall pregnant - and thats a good start : )

To answer you question about time frame, it's normally recommended to wait until after your first period (the first one after your miscarriage). Though make sure to check with you doctor first in case they have any concerns.

Hope I could help and I wish you best of Luck in the future!
I had a miscarriage June 2005, but did not need a D+C. I was in my 1st trimester and was shocked that it happened. My husband and I have 2 healthy boys and both pregnancies were textbook. I don't think we'll try again, not because of fear or anxiety over another miscarriage, but because I'm getting close to 35. If I were to try again or get pregnant, I'd handle it the way I did with my successful pregancies. Eat well, drink lots of water, rest, exercise, lots of pampering for the soon to be mom. Surround yourself with positive and don't overstrain yourself. Get cleared by the dr. before getting pregnant and take those prenatal vitamins. Good luck, you'll be a great mom.
I lost two babies in one year. It was tramatizing. But what I realized is that there is always the hope of having a successful pregnancy. These things DO happen, and we can't do very much to control them. During my second pregnancy, I was a wreck because I kept waiting for something bad to happen; and it did. It wasn't my fault and I couldn't control it. Worrying about it didn't help me. I suggest you find the best medical care you can afford and see a specialist. After losing two pregnancies, you may get a referral to see a perinatologist. These doctors specialize in high-risk pregnancies. Do alot of reading. An interesting fact is that most women will experience atleast one pregnancy loss during their lives, even if they don't realize it. Many women can mistake a miscarriage for an unusually crampy and heavy period. Not that this will make you feel any better, but it is good to know that even though it is common, lots of women go on to have healthy pregnancies.
