Should radiation monitoring during pregnancy: increase, decrease, stay the same or terminate? |
Please only answer if you are certain. Thank you, Increase. The maximum exposure limits decrease dramatically during pregnancy. e.g. from a maximal whole body exposure of 1.25 rem in 3 months, down to a total fetal exposure limit of 0.5 rem (in what would be 9 months). Pregnant women are directed to wear a second radiation monitoring device at waist level to ascertain fetal exposure. |
