PREGNANCY AFTER WLS (WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY) within one year post op by accident or planned...? |
I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT HOW PREGNANCIES WERE FOR WLS PATIENTS WHO GOT PG WITHIN 1 YEAR OF SURGERY BY ACCIDENT OR TTC? HOW WAS THE PG WAS IT DIFFICULT AND WAS IT SUCCESSFUL? MY SURGEON SAID WAIT 2 YEARS BUT ATLEAST 16 MONTHS...MY OB/GYN SAID HE WANTS ME TO START AFTER 3 MONTHS OF BEING ON BCP... I JUST WANT TO FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN GIVE ME INSIGHT ON HOW THEIR EXPERIENCE WAS BEING PG WITHIN ONE YEAR POST OP... THANX IN ADVANCE FOR ANY ANSWERS... In April, i just had my 1 yr out of WLS. My husbnad and i started trying in April to get PG (Dr. okayed this) and we conceived in May! My dr. gave the the okay at 1 year. I am almost to goal weight so he didnt see a problem. I am already down 173lbs! i'll let you know how the PG goes... I don't know what the chances of you finding someone who had similar situation are, but in my opinion I would go with what the doctor that did the surgery said, at least 16 months. Some people get pregnant their first month trying and I think after only three months after a weight loss surgery that that would set you back a lot with having cravings and eating more for two. You have to make sure you steady first. Good luck Personally, I don't believe in weight loss surgery but if you want a child, I would strongly suggest wating at least 1-2 years after this surgery as your body is goign from big to little and tne going to be stretching out agian. It's not going to know what to do! |
