How do I prepare myself for day surgery to remove breast lump? |
I have to go for day surgery in a week to remove a breast lump which may or may not be benign. I've been ok up until this weekend & now I'm starting to get really nervous. I keep thinking all these crazy things that could happen & on top of that I'm worrying that it might be cancer. I really don't know how I'm going to make it through this next week without having a panic attack. Please if you have any positive stories or advice I'd really appreciate it right now!! I've been there personally. There's nothing to worry about. I just had a mascatomy done and it wasn't painful like people say. just go in and get it over with. You'll make it through the week with the knowledge that for once and all you are getting rid of whatever it is that is in your breast. That is the best thing possible for you at this time. You should look forward to it because than you will know the truth . .whether it is benign or malignant . . and than you will cope and deal with it just like everyone else. You are far stronger than you think you are and you are now ahead of the game because you are being treated. Take one thing at a time. Don't worry about anything until you know you have something to worry about. |
