Colonic to prepare for surgery? |
I am possibly having surgery soon. It's tough to explain but basically I'm having part of my colon removed. The problem is that I need to be COMPLETELY cleaned out because my doctor wants to do a thorough colonoscopy first. The problem with that is I have Hirschsprungs Disease. It means chronic constipation. It's darn near IMPOSSIBLE for me to have bowel movements and getting even 50% to completely cleaned out is near impossible for me. Not even with Golightely, Dulcolax, Fleets enemas, etc.... Nothing works well. I have had colonoscopies before and my doctors get frustrated that I'm still never cleaned out well. I was thinking that maybe a colonic might work. I need to do something where it won't be completely on me to get everything out. Because I just cannot do it on my own. I need help. I hear that with a colonic most of the stuff inside is sucked out with a tube. Colonic is DEFINITELY the way to go - and if you have a problem with chronic constipation, you should make it part of your regular health routine. I get a colonic every six months or so, just because I have the same issue (constipation)... and you wouldn't BELIEVE the amount of stuff that comes out! My most recent treatment removed six pounds of stuff from my colon (the tech lets you get on the scale before and afterward)... and you feel SOO much better, your skin is clearer, and you sleep better. Find a colonic place, and DEFINITELY take advantage of it. Source(s): good luck! www.drnatura.com! Also supplement with glutamine before and after the surgery - not sure of the dosage, yet I think its 15 -20 mg spead out through the day. |
