Progesterone level update and question?

Well, I got my numbers back today and I ovulated!! Whoohoo. My progesterone level was 19....so that makes me very happy. Now we were just waiting to take a HPT.

My question is what day should I take one. I have 2 at home right now, so part of me wants to wait until late next week until I am 12-14 days dpo (I am 5dpo right now), and another part of me wants to go buy several and start taking them at 9dpo until I get a BFP or AF arrives...what do y'all think? Is it better to wait to avoid an unecessary BFN or test everyday to know as soon as possible???

i know 5dpo is way to early. my best friend, who is a dr., said that i could test 9dpo. i would wait until at least then. i don't know when AF is suppose to arrive ebecause i was on Clomid this cycle and i ovulated on CD18...so i have no idea how long my luteal phase will be. i will def test on Good Friday , that will be 14dpo for me.

Congrats on ovulating!!!!! I would wait until 14 dpo to test just to be safe. Best wishes!!!

From a cost perspective, I've always recomended waiting until AF is one day late.

The reason is because in any given month, the odds are against you getting pregnant. When you add to that the fact that an early negative test doesn't really tell you anything (because you might have tested too early and you'll have to test again unless AF shows up).

But every time AF shows up, it's like a free HPT.

Otherwise, I know how excited you are, so to avoid wasting more than one test a month, I would at least wait until the day of AF's expected arrival.

You can do it but will probably get upset when it comes back neg. 5dpo is to soon to get a postive 9 out of 10 times so I think you might be mad and upset for no good reason. If I were you I would wait until 10dpo, or go to ob and get a blood test.

id wait cause id get my hopes up every time! either way it wont make a difference. i had a VERY hard time getting pregnant and seriously when i least expected it, i found out i was pregnant! stay relaxed! and it will happen

Very few women can test positive with a urine test at 10PO or earlier. In the off chance that you are more within the norm, I would wait until you are at least 12DPO to test. You risk wasting a test and seeing a BFN before then. However, with a blood test you can test positive at 9DPO or anytime after that.
