What is a normal 21 progesterone level? |
I went to do a bunch of blood work last month to see if there are any problems for me ttc. The nurse at my dr's office just called and said my level was 211 for my 21 day progesterone. Is this normal? She did not know and was going to have the doctor call me. When we met last week, if it was low-we were going to look into clomid. Any ideas would help! Thanks. I had mine last week (which was 12.7). My doctor said that normal is anywhere between 10-21. (This is after the doctor converted the numbers from the lab. Your numbers look as though they have not been converted.) I recently lost a baby girl in Feb at 24 weeks and in the beginning for my 1st trimester i started to bleed and the ob put me on Prometruim(progesterone) OK now 3 months after i lost our baby girl i have had 2 periods the second one started on The 20th of April and i just stopped yesterday the 7th of may. I went to the ob on Monday to find out what is going on with my body, oh and i also have a lump in my breast. He told me that I'm not making enough progesterone(prometrium) which is usually used for post menopausal women and women that have not a had a period in a while. Sorry I'm rambling, just trying to explain. I'm not really sure about the levels, he did not test me for that. Prometrium is also used to maintain a pregnancy, it makes the lining in your uterus stronger to be able to hold the embryo. So maybe you should talk to your Doctor about prometrium. Prometrium is progesterone that your body makes naturally. GOOD LUCK I just had blood work done for the same thing last week. I'll be 21 in July and the doctor told me that my level should be at least a 5 (I'm assuming this means 100's), so I guess it should be 500, for it to mean that I am ovulating. Mine came back a 1.2, but the nurse said that women sometimes skip months in their ovulation, so we are going to try again next month and check it. If the number is still low, we are going to consider clomid too. Hope this helps! Good luck! |
