Rheumatoid arthritis - auto-immune disease - boost or suppress immune system?

I have RA and polymyalgia, which are auto-immune diseases - maybe I'm being thick here...does this mean I should concentrate on boosting OR on suppressing my immunity system?

In spite of all the promotion from vitamin and nutrition companies there is very little you can do to boost your immune system.

The main way of treating autoimmune conditions is to suppress your immune system. It is your immune that is attacking your body.

You should concentrate on working with your rheumatologist to develop a plan that works best for you. Every patient is different and what works for one many times does not work for another. This maybe more true for you than others because of the combination of conditions that you have.

You should probably boost your immune system,so that you can fight off infections, but then again,it could also attack your body, but I'd say to boost boost boost!!!!!
If you go to a rheumatologist they could put you on a treatment that would work for you,and this would 'hold the horses back',as my rheumatology nurse says!
