Im Living with rheumatoid arthritis and im only 16 how can i try to live life somewhat normal?

i'm 16 with rheumatoid arthritis and it's sooooo painful. i just got diagnosed in jan. and the doctor said there may be times i need to be admitted for pain meds. and whatever. i was a varsity cheerleader and now i can't hardly get around without hurting soo so bad. i want to cheer again. does anyone know how i can live a somwhat normal life with this. i don't want to be disabled :( im athletic with cheerleading and i need to know ways so i can do those again. im 16 and they said i have joints of an elderly person and i don't want that :(

You need to see a Rheumatologist and get on some Disease Modifying Drugs, to stop the joint destruction and I am shocked you are not on any of the new biological treatments. Reason being that Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis 'burns out' before you reach 20, so the treatments is to ensure you get to 20 with all joints in tact and fully functional. You do not get admitted for pain meds, or whatever? Treatment is delivered at Hospital Out-Patients and if you have not seen a Rheumatologist, then your Doctor is at fault. Their is no longer the disabled out come from RA! The new biological treatments STOP the disability, which is why you need to be on them! Best of Luck

I was involved in a very serious accident many years ago, and it left me suffering from migraine headaches ranging from a daily dull throb, to full blown, can't hardly move. After years of trying different meds, I went to a hypnotherapist who not only relieved my pain, but also taught me how to hypnotize myself, there bye alleviating my own pain.
It doesn't work for every one, but it may be worth a try.

Unfortuantly

theres nothing really you can do

Your probably going to have to take lots of meds and it will eventually get worse and worse

Just ask god to help you!

Please do one thing though@@
Dont get addicted to your meds!!!!!!!!

Ive seen it happen to ppl and it is very scary

It is really sad to hear that. I think you should start doing yoga. So please ask your doctor's advice on yoga. I think it will help you.
