Rheumatoid Arthritis and ttc?

I am nearly 27 and was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was 25. My husband and I have been trying to conceive since just before I was diagnosed but blood tests show I don't ovulate. My Rheumatologist told me it would be beneficial to stop taking diclofenac, as it has been linked to anovulation. I am so relieved to have found some insight for my lack of ovuation, although I know it may not be the cause.

I would like to know if anyone else with RA has stopped taking Diclofenac or any other medication (I am also on Sulfasalazine) and gone on to conceive and within what timescale.

Hii iv got R Arthritis's im SO glad iv found someone with this condition and ttc.
Im 26 and was diagnosed when i was a baby,Iv been on mobic and methotrexate for years.I came off all my medication and birth control Nov 08 so 5 months ago.

I have a regular 28 day cycle but iv been testing with the ovulation stripes and only get a 2nd faint line so im not sure if im ovulating.

Does any one know if Arthritis affects us trying to catch???

my sister in law had RA , but come to find out she had Celieac disease, no wheat , no gluten, and her life has been 360 degree turn, i would ask your dotort that, you never know, but she has 2 kids too
good luck

I am 26 and have RA. I was diagnosed as a child. I stopped taking all medications for RA about 8 years ago and just got by with NSAIDS (over the counter). I was told by my doctor that NSAIDS can interfere with ovulation so I no longer take those. I only take Tylenol when needed. My husband and I have been trying for a baby since July 2006. It has been a long road and we are hoping to get to the end soon. My fertility specialist feels that RE in no way is affecting my ability to conceive.

I would definately get off as many meds as possible. Take prenatal vitamins and drink plenty of water. Try learning to chart your basal body temperature so you can determine if ovulation is occuring. There is a great book called "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" to help learn more about it. If you still do not conceive or are not ovulating then see a specialist.

Best wishes!
