What's the difference between 'god fearing' and 'paranoid schizophrenia'?

Is it that you think that YOU are the god?

Actually, if you've ever met a person who is ill with schizophrenia, you would see that there is little difference between that illness and some of the really whacked out fundies.

Theism is a form of schizophrenia. So.... no difference.

One's treatable with medication. The other tends to go unchecked.

The difference is the first is fiction and the 2nd is fact. ;)

God-fearing is based on something real. It brings victory in life, and real tangible results in one's life, emotions, mind, and relationships.

Paranoid schizophrenia is when you see / hear things that aren't real. It usually does the opposite.

Only difference god fearing specific type paranoid schizophrenia, just specific and general terms. many people act like believe they gods.

If enough people in society worship a particular god, the society doesn't consider it crazy anymore.

GOD FEARING- you are afriad of doing wrong according to the bible, you are a good person because you are afraid of going to hell, and that is the only reasong you are a good person. PARANOID SCHIZOPHRENIA- is a syndrome marked by delusions and hallucinations that involve themesof persecution and grandiosity. A schizophrenic could believe they are god.

God fearing is sane, paranoid schizophrenia is the label given to people that suffer from a certain type of distorted thinking that meets the criteria listed in the DSM-IV book.

yes. schizophrenics think they ARE god. and god fearing is...god fearing.

They are totally unrelated. God fearing is believing in and respecting God. The other is a psychiatric disease. Anyone who knows God doesn't have a problem differentiating between the two.

Exactly!!! Now tell me, all these blessed people who God "spoke" to throughout history... how do we know they weren't schizo? Schizophrenia has been around forever. Yet this is dismissed a lot.
