It is variable with the person and the "degree" to which they are affected by the psychosis and their response to treatment. it is probably on a continuum where at one end there are individuals who are never without the positive symptoms to the other end of the scale where individuals have them very mildly and infrequently. Somewhere near the middle are the majority whose disabling symptoms are episodic . There are a significant number of people, usually sufferers of Paranoid Schizophrenia who retain a complex delusional system between more acute episodes. |
