People diagnosed with schizophrenia?

How do the voices that you hear differ from your own thoughts. Are your thoughts expressed in your own voice or are your thoughts not expressed as an internal voice at all?

I have schizophrenia and my voices are absolutely nothing like me nor do they reflect my thoughts at all. They are not mine. For people who do not believe in a spirit world this is hard to accept, but if you believe in a spirit world it makes sense. I believe the voices are spirits and people who travel on the astral plane. Also they are a lot smarter than I am and can push my every button and have me dancing like a puppet if I let them. I don't hate myself, but my voices can be very hateful of me. I don't feel badly about myself as I am a positive person, but I have yet to hear a positive voice. Sometimes the voices mimic people that I know. They are all mean people and the voices I hear from that source is always a problem. I have never heard a voice from someone nice that I know. I beleive this is because mean people have evil spirits motivating them to do and to say mean things, and I encounter them when I am experiencing schizophrenia. There was a time when some people didn't believe we hear voices. They did scientific studies that proved that we were subliminally making the voices in our throats, and then MRIs proved that we do actually hear voices as if a regular person was talking. This just goes to show that science doesn't always have all the answers. Schizophrenia is largely metaphysical in nature and spiritual in nature and ordinary science just doesn't do justice to explaining schizophrenia. I will say it once again for emphasis - the voices are not my own thoughts and they actually do come from outside of me and are not from a source within my own mind or body. Having said this MRI's imply that what we hear is real and not made up. We don't have a chemical imbalance in our brains, our brains are just fine. What we are is spiritual sensitives and there are a lot of bad spirits in the universe waiting to take advantage of someone who is not privy to how to maneuvre the spiritual realms, which is really no one at first, but you can learn and get better so long as drugs weren't involved. I don't take medicine and I am very high functioning. I credit this to the fact that I don't do any drugs including alcohol, cigarettes, or cafiene. Also I don't take any medical prescriptions except for the temporary stuff for occaisional pain and occaisional antibiotics or other temporary medicines. If our voices were our own thoughts, then it wouldn't be so distressing as we would simply have another friend, but the voices are almost always our enemies and they lie and trick you into doing bad things. For example people who say that God told them to kill their children. These are people who love their children dearly, but the voices are like that. They try to get you to do evil things if you don't control them. I have learned to control them and to cope with hearing them without getting into trouble. It's not always easy, but you have to stay in a state of extreme consciousness and be a very loving person.

The voices to a schizophrenic seem very much to that person to come from an outside source. They think they are hearing it. Some schizophrenics say they hear different voices. Of course this is a malfunction of the brain...this IS the persons own thoughts. Usually things they fear. A lot of times, the "voices" are berating the person, making them feel worthless. This is the persons thoughts about theirselves, but they seem to come from an outside source.

Only a mental health professional should answer this question: go to http://nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/schizo... to find out about the disease, but please seek professional help in your area if need be. good luck

Thoughts are an internal voice. Voices are as if someone else is talking. Not everyone with schiz hears voices. Some see hallucinations. Others have delusions (mind being controlled, etc). There are other symptoms as well.

i think schizophrenia is crap cuz it calls ppl hwo have vivid and wild maginations are considered siko..sry..but my opinion

it would sound like another person is talking out loud next to you, but they are not there. the things they say may or may not match your internal thoughts
