My grandmothers schizophrenia psychosis went away?

She thought a huge insect was following her everywhere, and she occasionally had audible hallucinations, although not often (it was more the combination of visual hallucinations and the rare delusion). She was diagnosed in the late 50s, about two months after her psychosis kicked in.She was treated with medication; she had therapy for some amount of years, and she gained some weight, and suffered some side effects. For a month in the 1960s, she stopped taking the medication. She did not have a delusion. Her therapy proved successful, and she dealt with a way to cope with the illness without the intervention of medication 鈥?the occasional hallucination kicked in without the meds, but it went after some years. She never had another psychotic attack, and she died last year at 79.First of all, she was a wonderful woman,so intelligent and I loved her very much. Her insight into the disease was unbelievable, and her strenth was huge.i posted this to see if there were similar stories

luv cate :)

hey mia h, maybe there something actually is wrong with your daughter? you should go see someone (such as a psychologist) and ask their opinion, but then again your her mother...just offering my opinion :)

Oh you must miss your grandmother was a wonderful woman, my daughter appears normal but she is crazy I have tried everything I can for her but she hates me and only wants my time and money.
I wish I could help her with her meds or without she is the same, hears sounds, tastes smoke in her mouth, the tv talks to her, planes dip hello at her. But when she wants money she acts normally so go figure**

So what is your question?
