Schizophrenia and bipolar 2 ?

Whats the difference between them ?

Please i need help in this my mind has gone crazy ..

*I've told my therapist that i have hallucinations and hear voices

He looked worried and said i need to take meds

He didn't say " ur schizophrenic or ut bipolar :((((

:(

It's been like this for years now

* i see a psychotherapist

In extreme bipolar mania one can hear voices. When your schizophrenic though, those voices often end up actually talking to you. Same thing with hallucinations, they could be the result of either illness, although it's more like to be the result of schizophrenia then bipolar depression.

It would be hard for anyone to do a diagnosis of you over the internet, especially without a complete medical history. Just do the research yourself of both disease and take his advice and see a physciatrist (I don't believe a therapist can prescribe medication if I'm not mistaken).

Maniac Depressant was the word they used...when someone was having problems, with stress. They put them on medication...instead of actually finding out what the problem was. And most of the problems were related break-ups in marriages, family units, job related, not fitting into society. They decided to change the name to schizophrenic, which in reality was related.. to the same problem...
So changing a name , does not change the problem or sickness. Its all to do with the Name!...Aka Bipolar!...the updated version!!
