Schizophrenia.?

Before I started having hallucinations, I never thought I had schizophrenia. Then I just googled reasons for hallucinations and it told me schizophrenia is the primary reason. I have partial incredulity at first, and I don't read much about it. Then I start having days where I am the opposite of how I "normally" am. Honestly, on my "normal" days I am a conglomeration of thought -no real emotions or problems and I am wholly rational. Then there are the days when I am nothing more than a sentimental... imbecile, of doubtful reason too! There is no person, thing or idea that makes my day horrible. I can't even talk with anyone, because they are trying to ascertain why I am upset, and I don't even know! In addition, it's physically hard for me to talk with anyone because I am very unorganized when I vocalize something.
Then I try to see what is going on and google schizophrenia again. I have all of the symptoms.

unfortunately I already told my mom that I am concerned and she already thinks it's too incredible and that I'm just being delusioned from books. Honestly I can understand how she thinks that because I -while disorganized and magniloquent around her- appear like a saint and I'm sure it's frightening for her. But she only wants to take me to see someone who doesn't even have a degree in psychology because she doesn't think I'm serious.

you might have it im not totally sure you should go to a phycitarist they will be able to help you and prescrobe some medication so u wont hallucinate anymore

Well if you talk as well as you type I would disagree that you have organized speach. But based off a parapgraph its hard to really make a diagnosis. Hallucinations certainly are common in many psychotic disorders, not just schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia certainly is characterized by hallucinations, disorganized speach, delusions, difficulty with emotions, mental fog and so forth. But other disorders have symptoms that over lap with schizophrenia. Its possible you could have a specific kind of schizophrenia or a disorder like it (you could be schizotypal, schizoaffective or some such disorder).

Really you should see a psychiatrist.

Schizophrenia is, as you know, not a single disease but a spectrum of disorders. Self-diagnosis or diagnosis by a non-professional is dangerous and usually wrong.

Hallucinations are fairly common. Some 40% of the human population report having had an hallucination at sometime in their lives (google hallucinations, wikipedia has a good summary). Only 2-3 % are diagnosed as psychotic.Schizophrenic hallucinations are very unwelcome often very violent and leave the victim drained and withdrawn trying to figure them out.

You do not want a diagnosis of schizophrenia if you can help it. The stigma associated with the disorders is hard to cope with. It affects your every endeavor. It is like being branded with a 666 on your forehead!

Type "DSM-IV TR" the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" into Yahoo! web search for access and info on this "Bible" used in the diagnosis of all types of schizophrenia. You will find how difficult it is to diagnose one with a schizophrenic disorder. It has to exist and present itself in a number of different ways over a long period of time..

Good luck in your research, good mental health, good luck with your mother, peace and Love!
