What's it like to have Schizophrenia?

What's it like to have Schizophrenia?

I've not had schizophrenia, so I can't give a first hand account but I worked with hundreds of people who have. Some people have lived happy, 'normal' lives and others have been totally tortured by their illness. Generally, my impression has been that women manage living with the condition better than men. If you want to get a better idea, look on the websites of Mind or Rethink - they might suggest books written about the illness which give accounts from people who really know.

I'l tell you. It's F****** **** and it's driving me mad. You can't sleep, eat or think straight. You'r constantly paranoid when your in public. You feel very secure when your by your self. You consrtantly think people are talking or laughing about you. You start to beliefe people are finding a way to get to you. You have so many mood swings but not one of those moods are tears. They are all anger and hate. You believe you are talking to spirits but I know I am, but peole make you out to be a pscyco.
Do you think I'm Schizopheric?

crazy. you're constatly hearing one or more voices in your head and have lots of hallucinations. MAny of these voices and hallucinations are telling you to do something(usually bad). You can never really get away from them. You can alwasy hear them. they can drive you more insane than you already are.

That is impossible to say because people can have different symptoms.
I work with people who have scizophenia, some cope remarkably well, others not so well. The thing that they all hope for is control, being able to control teh impact of the voices or other hallinations on their lives.

I don't have it but i'm a hypochondriac and i keep thinking i'm gonna get it

dont know what its like to have it,,,but do know what its like to live with someone who is ...........heartbreaking

pretty sad and terrrifying I imagine

Not nice i should think.

I don't know. Yes I do. No I don't. Yes I do.
