Could this be compulsive thoughts or Schizophrenia ?

Ok, I don't want to .sound weird but I had this problem as a kid. I had it a little in my early teens years, now Im seveteen and I'm on Zoloft for anxiety. My thoughts have gotten worse since then. I think certain things I go near or touch are bad for me. If I touch them they might be evil or make something bad happen if i come in contact with them. I feel like something is telling me this, imnot sure if its my conscience. I think bad things will happen to me if i dont pick up something or move something to the left, or do something at that exact moment or something along those lines. One other example is, i was watching tv and there was this man on tv. my thoughts were telling me if i think this man is going to die he will. and i didnt want to think that. whats going on?

Many of the thoughts or fears you are having sounds like a phobia, could also be ocd. The only way to know for sure if it is Schizophrenia is to go to a psych dr. there are many new antipsychotic drugs that will control the thoughts or obsessive behaviors you are experiencing. Another thought is how long have you been on zoloft, zoloft is known to make people feel as though they are losing their mind and have some pretty bad side effects. I too once had an episode thinking i was losing my mind couldnt understand what was happening to me, I ended up in the hospital for 2 weeks because I had an allergic reaction to topamax .. for treatments of my migraines. So don't panic it could be something very simple as a change of medication, please talk to your doctor. I wish you the best of luck.

My son has schizophrenia. This sounds like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
My son feared he was the anti-Christ. He was terrified he was. I had to point out that there was just no way, and enumerated all the great things about him--he is the most gentle of people and a really honorable person, etc. etc. and fortunately, because I'm his mother and he trusts me, he was able to accept that he was mistaken.
See, schizophrenics are pretty obsessed with religion. It's not schizophrenia if you aren't obsessed with religion, I'm pretty sure.

You really really sound like you have obsessive-compulsive disorder. that's a whole lot better diagnosis than schizophrenia, believe me.

omg i am the same way too! i am 14 and i am curretly on Zoloft and if i dont do something then i will die or something really bad will happen to me or my family... like if i dont do a certain amount of something then i get really really worried about it and have to get to that number i do this with everything ad everyday like 50 times! ahh i hate it! but i think that it could be soemthing to do with OCD and anxiety but i would talk to your therapist next visit about it i think i am going to too..

More then likely not Schizophrenia, there is one major, huge, gigantic thing here that is a sure sign and is not in your question.
Why on earth do you want something like Schizophrenia??
Go get checked out, tell them you think you have Schizophrenia.

I can understand you. Don't worry. I read in a book
that our mind reacts without our knowledge in a
way we don't like at the deeper level. (In psychology
they consider this as the unconcious mind) You
should be able to get over this without medicine.
Observe your mind like an outsider. Tell yourself that
this is the true nature of your mind.Be equanimous

This sounds like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder- OCD
That means you keep on thinking about certain things without stop and can't stop yourself from performing certain actions.
It's very common.

It's a serious condition, not just annoying or personally frightening, because it interferes with your life.
As a teenager you have more important things to think about than ideas that stop you from learning and growing.

This is to tell you that you MUST do everything you can to get this treated so it stops. If it's happening with Zoloft than maybe that's the wrong medicine for this condition.

All doctors are not created equal. All don't know the same things. l urge you to find a psychiatrist who specializes in OCD, get your parents or your doctor or school counselor to help, and get the best treatment, so your life can go on as it should. This is not a do-it-yourself kind of condition, so get going to get all the help you can.

Lots of luck to you.

At the risk of sounding like a religious person, or a person that believes in spirits, it sounds like you are being tormented by an evil spirit. I know it sounds crazy, but I swear to you something like this happened to my friend when we were kids and I really do believe it was a spirit that was freaking her out. We were young...probably about 10 and all the sudden she started saying all these crazy things in the middle of us playing. She started talking about kissing and dying and it's like she couldn't control herself and you could see the fear in her face and I was so afraid. She ran in her Mom's room and grabbed the bible and was hugging it and crying. I ran home and got my Mom and my Mom came down there and they ended up praying and then she was okay. It is weird, we are both 40 now and I remember it like it was yesterday. She never mentioned it again and neither did I. She is still my best friend, and infact she lives next door to me. Maybe you should have someone pray with you. It couldn't hurt...that's for sure.

Its OCD. I have it. Its horrible, I constantly have ll thise sorts of weird thoughts, about me having this ability to hurt people, and objects meaning different things. Its a nasty condition but it can be controlled. I personally have learnt to control it by myself. I just dont let it get to me, cus its all stupid ideas in my head. I just blame my overactive imagination. But if you cant control it this way, seek help from your g.p, they can refer you to a mental health nurse, and then you can learn to deal with your OCD.
