Characters in the bible suffered from schizophrenia? |
How do you know the people who claimed they talked to god weren't schizophrenic? or perhaps lying? Edward J- No, I am saying it could be either. The person could of lied, just to get power There is no way to tell. My guess is that either Jesus was really the son of god or a schitzo. I could claim right now i talked to god and he has told me i was the next savior...ppl would think i am nuts. The only answer I can give you is that the bible says The Holy Spirit inspired men to write the bible. Since it is written in the bible "that a house divided against itself cannot stand", the Holy Spirit cannot allow a lie due to the fact that lieing is frowned upon (and worthy of hell) in the bible. So either all of them were lying or they were all telling the truth. So it all boils down to if you believe that the bible is the true Word of God. I personally believe that it is. They couldn't have been schizophrenic. The reason why is that when you have schizophrenia you have disorganized thoughts and speech. The writers of the Bible must of heard God's voice. What they wrote was detailed and orderly and made logical sense. Also this is also very insensitive to both Christians. Not to mention very unkind to people who suffer from schizophrenia. So if someone was was smart enough to claim they had a conversation with God to get power and wealth they were schizophrenic? Edit: Ok thanks for the clarification. Yes it also possible that everyone that doesn't agree with my beliefs is schizophrenic or caniving to. Because what they said actually came true. Ever hear of the word prophesy, check into it. This is what makes you a prophet, nothing else. How can you be certain about something that isn't there? Really, you're just beating a dead horse. |
