How do i loss the weigth of my tummy that the risperdal for schizophrenia has given me? |
I was dianosed with schizo 8 years ago and since have put on alot of weight like 75 pounds I want it gone but most my efforts seem hopeless eg I can go to the gym for 2 hours 6 days a week and lose 6 pounds in 3 months. I have been thinking about trying diet pills and exercise at the same time. but before I do I want to know if there is anything I have tried that will work? most my weight seems to go to my tummy and I look like I have been carring a baby for 8 years i just gained a ton of weight from risperdal (i'm not schizophrenic though) so i sympathize. i'm probably about to get off of it. I'm really sorry to hear about your diagnosis. My ex was schizophrenic and the medication always caused him to gain weight. Unfortunatly diet pills and a lot of other supplements(including energy drinks) can mess with your medication. I would talk to your therapist about any decisions you want to make regarding use of supplements. They might have some advice. But the only thing you can do is run and lift weights. And maybe cut down on your eating a bit. I do remember that my ex had a huge appetite from the medication. walking, muscles are how you lose weight and burn calories because if you don't eat guess what your body eats from first sure adipose but also your muscles fade. Drink lots of water...go jogging for at least 45 minutes - 60 minutes, daily. Eat less meat, and eat more veggies. 3 meals a day and at least 8 hours of sleep. i have under active thyroid and although i eat little I'm still over weight lately i have been walking a lot more and in the last two month actually lost 18 lb, over a stone, so try a little more exercise exercise like go in a club or jim or take an hrs jog. Exercise and good diet - thats the only way. i best way to lose weight around you mid section is to do situps & core exercises's :D. keep up the cardio & have fun DIET, AND SITUPS crunches and healthy diet. not pills! exercise too, at least 3 times a week... |
