They have a lot of very good information on schizophrenia. The first two websites have booklets in pdf format that you can download and save for future reference.

There is also an excellent book, "Surviving Schizophrenia: A Manual for Families, Patients, and Providers" by E. Fuller Torrey, Fifth Edition. I know Barnes & Noble has it. Amazon.com only has the 4th edition. That is very good reading and tells a lot about schizophrenia.

Excessive fretting and worrying about what others are thinking of you. Or any constant, sad circumstance in life which allows you to have to much time to think and ponder on the bad things in your life. Excessive self pity too. This could lead to a perminant chemical in-balance in the brain and lead to psychosis.

Just a point of note: - psychiatrists tend to use the word 'trait' or 'characteristic' when describing mental illnesses as 'symptom' is synonymous with physical illness.

they hear voices telling them to hurt or kill people are you sure it is paranoid schizophrenia as there is more than one type of schizophrenia

The only person who could tell you the symptoms is a doctor.
