How do I deal with my mother having schizophrenia? |
I'm 17. I've been aware of her illness for years, but lately I've been finding it harder to communicate with her because I lose my temper over the smallest things. I do not live with my mother, but do have "special times" set up, where we spend time together, whether it be me treating her to a meal or us watching a movie. My mother is schizophrenic too and bipolar. you are probably worried about the possibility of having schizophrenia like she does or you are angery with her for not treating her disease properly. But when you have a condition such as schizophrenia you really dont think properly and I am sorry you blame her for the past but it is better to look forward to the future ;you cannot change the past.If you dont let go of your anger it will hold you back from enjoying life in general.good luck. Take it a day at a time. You will be blessed for "trying"! |
