Is it normal to have schizophrenia? |
Ok so here's the deal. I live a normal and productive life. Only thing is that I have had schizophrenia in my youth and still have some minor symptoms. Am I normal? If you are my friend/boyfriend and I told you this, would you continue to be my friend/boyfriend? Would you want to know this before you marry me even though the symptoms were minor and you could not tell there was anything wrong with me and even professionals don't believe I have been ill or how far I have come? Even though I really have? Answers please Of course you are norma, many people have schizophrenia, and it is not always something that came about through any particular cause. Everyone has mental health issues from time to time, and they are not abnormal, that is just what society has come to believe over time through crucifying anything that is slightly deviant from the accepted norm. You are asking if it is normal and I guess I have to say: schizophrenia is an illness (it is of natural causes, but I guess not "normal"). There are many types of schizophrenia some more apparent than others. A lot of people with schizophrenia live completely normal lives, some with medication others without. (Is it possible that you had a schizophrenic episode more than were diagnosed with schizophrenia, because you never really stop having this, you can control it? Plus, always keep in mind that schizophrenia is really hard to diagnosed because there are so many possible symptoms and so many types.) It all depends on what the other "part(s)" of you is like. It you have the "advanced-delusionary-schizophrenia-with involuntary-narcissistic rage" then we may have a problem. If you turn into some crazed horny nymphomaniac that's down for everything as long as it is with me, and maybe some female friends of yours while I am always present....then, we can work through that... what kind of minor symptoms. if its just that you here some voices and sometimes you say irrelevant things its not a big deal. its not normal to have shizophrenia, im not trying to insult ppl who have it, but it isn't normal, it is abnormal and im sure there are ways to make it less severe I had a nice neighbor with schizophrenia. He was helpful when I lost my keys. He made sure I was OK. I am grateful to have him as a friend. His mom is a nice lady too. Your condition is not normal, but each person has something about them that makes them unlike others. So in a sense, no one is normal. I would get u majr psychological help befor doin anythin else I wouldn't give a damn |
