What do they mean "schizophrenia runs in your famly"? |
Do they mean that numerous people have it in your family and pass it down; or can just one random person have it and no one else does in the family tree count as "runs in family" Schizophrenia is a condition where someone somehow loses touch with reality to a point. They have found that if someone in your family has it, there is a possibility that you may get it, but not definitely. They are not sure of what causes it. It does seem to be somewhat genetic, but it also depends on the person and if they have experienced traumatic events. It might run in a family if the family has undergone some traumatic stress together. My brother has it, but no one else in our family does. If you have a twin that is schizophrenia then there is a 50% chance that you could become schizophrenia. When they say schizophrenia runs in your family that means it can be passed down to you, your children or grandchildren but it can skip a generation. Basically it means schizophrenia is hereditary. YOU LOOK PISSED LIKE ME, LOL! more than one person in your family has to have it to be considered "runs in your family." if one person in your family has the disease than your at high risk of developing the disease if not someone close to you such as a brother or even cousin. |
