Have you ever been diagnosed with schizophrenia?

1) What was it like to be diagnosed with this condition?
2) Do you still consider yourself as having schizophrenia? Why/why not?
3) Do you take medicine for the rest of your life?

Thankyou in advance for sharing your experiences

Yes I have been diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and some other doctors think that I have schizoaffective disorder. It really explained a lot when my life was in shambles and I didn't know what was going on or how to fix it. I have the hallucinations and the paranoia and the affective flattening so I do consider myself to be schizo. I do take medicine and I will keep taking it because I have hallucinations when I don't take it or when I take the wrong kind. Risperdal is what works best for me.

Its the same thing as being bipolar.

I have, but My other half denies it.

No I haven't

Shut up, you have too!
