What are hopeful things you might tell a friend who was concerned about someone who developed schizophrenia?

What are some of the more hopeful things you might tell a friend who was concerned about someone who developed schizophrenia?

Those other answers are what you tell someone to stop them from worry about someone with schizophrenia. The thing is, sometimes schizophrenia isn't "highly treatable", and it will never go away. The symptoms can be hidden, but...

But give them a big hug, for example? I can't stand human contact because I know that people can read my mind when they touch my skin, and I can't stand being around people. It depends on this person's symptoms. The absolute most important thing is for your friend to make sure that their schizophrenic friend knows that they are there. If they don't like to be with people, then write letters often and still make the effort to contact him/her. Also, don't argue or "try to talk sense" into this person. Bad idea.

Just be supportive but not intrusive.

1. Schizophrenia is a very controllable condition. Its 2009 just as Atari 2600 is nothing compared to ps3 the meds then are nothing compared to the treatments now. Let that person know we expect a cure and there is always fantastic things being done to help and lessen the symptoms.

2, Nothing says it ever has to get worse or out of control. Sometimes people can go years even decades without issues. I know its corny BUT HOPE HELPS. Law of attraction says if you truly believe and expect it you will get it. let them believe its not as bad as it sounds and maybe it will be.

3. MEDS DO WORK!!! my best friend in grade school has it and unless she refused her meds she was fine for years at a time. MEDS DO WORK,

4. Get a second opinion and a 3rd. Find doctors that are experts at this stuff. There are only 6 degrees of separation between anyone on th planet in 4 months of looking you will for certainly and mathematically find the right doctors,

NEVER GIVE UP HOPE

Good luck to you and your friend!

I agree with get a second and third opinion, not necessarily from the same profession.....
Aside from that , you could send your friend to www.emofree.com for free information and a healing technique to learn and apply ... lots of selfexplanatory help there for anyone...
asian medicine and acupuncture also treat schizophrenia, if that is what it is....
Just because someone may have seen an angel, doesnt make them crazy in my book.... take care
Just let your friend know you are there for her/him and that you dont know what she/he needs but that you are there for them..... thay should be enough along with a big hug....
