Do i have schizophrenia (at 12 years old)?

i don't know if i do or not, please help. here are my symptoms:

i've been doing bad at school, and it's getting me in trouble.

apparently (as most of the people i know say), while i'm day dreaming, i talk nonsense about wierd topics.
i've been having hallucinations and delusions-for example. i was on the computer last night and i randomly looked out the window. i saw a person, standing there, in the rain. at the window. i was very scared.

i haven't had the same relationships ith my friends as before this started.

This has been going on for 1 year and i'm sick of it. it's scareing me and i just want it to end.

is this schizophrenia?

i want to know if YOU think it's schizophrenia, then, if you think it is, i will go and see a doctor.

Calm down. Seriously. Schizophrenia is most common in people in their late teens. Head injury could cause some hallucinations. Have you had a concussion or other injury in the past 3 weeks? Have you witnessed any deaths or traumatic events recently?

No matter how old you are, you have the right to be taken seriously if you think something is wrong with you. You do have the classic signs of schizophrenia, including the lack of focus.

Then again, it could be something else as well. Are you taking drugs? You may think that that's a stupid question to ask a 12 year old, but you'd be surprised.

To properly diagnose schizophrenia, I'd need more information. Feel free to email (or, if that's uncomfortable, don't).

Like everyone else said, we shouldn't really be answerin this, this is for you to speak to your parents and doctor about, but this is the internet so if you want my opinion here it is . . .

You seem pretty normal to me. I do not think you have schizophrenia whatsoever. Since it's worrying you so much mabey it's some sort of anxiety problem. But yeah this is coming from a teen who's had various mental health problems not anyone with any qualifacations so don't take my opinion for word. Just talk to your doctor or a teacher, etc if you can't talk to your parents and it's scaring you this much.

what i think is, schizophrenia is a very sort of... all-encompassing diagnosis? a lot of symptoms can be thrown together as schizophrenia. the daydream talking doesn't seem that weird but the hallucinations are alarming.

I don't know how crazy you are, if you are doubting your own sanity. (crazy people usually don't think they're crazy)

anyway the best thing is to get evaluated by a real psychiatrist, we don't know, lol

Yeah, not to reiterate the others, but we are not doctors.
Delusions are NEVER normal. And since it has been going on for a while, you NEED to see a doctor.

The daydreaming talk thing sounds strange, but not like an illness.
Remember there is a difference between an active imagination and hallucinations. Are you sure you aren't looking at a weird shape tree and seeing a person? Does the person walk around?

This, however, is not the place to find the answer to what you are asking. Please go and ask a professional. Your parents, caregiver, trusted adult type person. All of them could help. Diagnosing yourself is impossible. If you are scared, then definitely talk to someone. The more your trusted adults know the better. The best thing to do is to go to a professional.

What I think you need to do is go to a psychologist. Because if it is it can get worse and a leading cause of death from schizophrenia is suicide.
If it isn't schizophrenia it could be something else.
I really hope this helps.

Possibly, but it doesn't seem to be serious to the brink of insanity.
So I wouldn't worry too much if I were you.
Obviously see a psychiatrist, but don't freak about it.

a psychiatrist will call you crazy, a doctor will call you sick, and a paranormal investigator will call you haunted. Which one do you want?

You should talk to your doctor. It's probably not schizophrenia but it probably is some sort of mental disorder.

I dont think you should ask us. Ask a doctor if you think it is that serious. Good luck

We CANNOT diagnose you! You need to go and see a doctor so that you can get some help.

HUH?

thats for doing that to my question

Don't ask us, ask your doctor.

You might not have anything wrong. I knew a lot of nerdy people who used to talk nonsense about weird topics and now most are very successful. Some are high up the corporate ladder and some others invented a few different products.

At 12, thinking that you might have seen someone standing outside in the evening is not out of the ordinary. A lot of kids I went to school with used to think that they saw a ghost on halloween, or even other days. Maybe the window sill was warm and the rain was cold, therefore you might have seen some sort of evaporation of water or something.

You might have some sort of anxiety. Try to look at a logical reason something might have occurred. I know it might be difficult because you are still young and most things do not make any sense.

You are probably fine. Maybe if you try to be a little more social, then you will feel a little bit better. Kids need to hang around other kids.

Try not to jump to the conclusion that you have schizophrenia. You are probably just jumping to conclusions about things.

Maybe try not to daydream at school. You are going to need to pay attention to understand the subjects. If you keep dosing off at school, try going to sleep earlier.

*edit*

Tell your parents what you think that you might have seen. They might be able to find out what it was.

It might have been some sort of illusion. Our mind has a tendency to fill in empty space to create familiar objects.

*edit*

Do you think that it could have been your reflection?

What did the person look like?

*edit*

If you are having problems sleeping, then you are going to need to see your family doctor. Without the proper amount of REM sleep, you might have hallucinations. But, having a sleep disorder is different than having schizophrenia.

So, it might be helpful to tell your parents about your difficulty staying asleep at night. Also, it might be helpful to see your family doctor about your problems sleeping. You might have some sort of sleep apnea, or something else.

*edit*

You really do not want to have schizophrenia. Try to look at another reason these sypmtoms might be occurring. Also, you need to rule out any sort of medical condition before you can be diagnosed with a mental health condition. So, it would be more benifical to see your family doctor before making an appointment with a psychiatrist.

First of all, you're 12

However, you are asking me more than if I think you have schizophrenia. You are asking me how to comfront problems and issues.

First of all, your parents shouldn't laugh. If they do laugh than you have to be seriouse with them because a 12 year old never knows what they have if they have anything. Most likely you heard of it somewhere and are paranoid. Trust me, you don't have it.

If this is a REAL issue tell your parents that you are scared. Tell them you're paranoid and how you found this out. Tell them you need somebody to TALK to so you don't end up meeting strangers online on Yahoo Answers. If they do not respond to you in a serious matter than you just gota wait till you're older than make them feel bad when they treat you with respect.

even if it isn't you need some help. Go to the doctor. In the meantime, click this link and e-mail me what you see. I know what it is supposed to be and two different illnesses that coorelate, so I can make an educated guess.

No it's not. It's not really that normal either... You're fine from what I have read. You have to be at least 13 to have an answers account.

Edit: You seem like you just want attention. If you really saw a man like you say.... then maybe there really was a man at your window.. right? Well then maybe when you looked away... he left. Right? Okay then.. so moving on... You say that you're 12 on this question yet on your profile you say that you're 13..... hmm...
