Has anyone else had schizophrenia?

I have had this I am sure all my life. I am sure it has been coming on all my life. I am recovered (yes it is possible) wondering if anyone else had it that can answer these questions for me

1. Do you have trouble with confidence in other situations people seem to thrive at

2. Do people signal you out and not really understand, thinking you are just quiet or need help

3. Do you feel nervous talking in groups of people?

4. Do you have bizarre dreams at times and think they are going to come true?

I am sure nobody else who hasn't had it would be able to answer this, if you think you can, go ahead.

And what is the difference between schizophrenia and psychotic depression?

the second poster, I recovered with drugs.

yah to all that so are you still on drugs or are you off? and were you on LRA I still am :(

It is very normal, once you have recovered and back to normal to have these symptoms. I have had this illness myself and I know anxiety is the worst part of schizophrenia for sure. And bizarre dreams and increased dream activity is a side effect of medication too. It is very normal once you have been through it to lose all or most of your confdence and very hard to build up again. The best thing is to do it slowly. People who do not have it, 99% of the population, do not understand because to them it is easy to buy coffee, go shopping and to them it is done for pleasure. It is very hard once you are ill to have pleasure in these situations. You are very brave and good luck.

To the second poster: it IS possible to fully recover from schizophrenia. It's not common -- only about 10% of people who have experienced schizophrenic symptoms have only one psychotic episode in their lifetimes. For the rest, the bouts of psychosis are a lifelong struggle with medication.

It's impossible to recover from schizophrenia without drugs. If you think you recovered without drugs, then it's not schizophrenia.

That sounds more like a very mild case of anxiety or hypomania, rather than schizophrenia, anyway.

Yes, and to your four questions, I don't think those characterize schizophrenia- a lot of schizophrenics just withdraw completely. Have you been diagnosed by a doctor, or did you diagnose yourself?

Go to this website, you'll find a large community of people with schizophrenia who'll be able to relate to what you are describing.
