Can Schizophrenia lead to that person murdering you? |
Can Schizophrenia lead to that person murdering you? Schizophrenia can lead to a lot of things if not medicated...I would worry more if someone was smoking crack than if someone was diagnosed Schizo. Schizophrenia is a very complex disease and is easily misdiagnosed. There are lots of great medications that help with some schizoid symptoms. I don't think murder is high on the list for those suffering from schizophrenia. Source(s): :) It's also slightly possible for my dog to talk. I mean...SLIGHTLY possible. It is slightly possible It depends what you mean. I wrote a blog article a while back about LaFaves claim that she was insane when she slept with the kid. The major point is that, in some schools of thought, our minds are made up of many finely balanced components - mini-me's if you like. For most of us, we have have permanently dominant personality, but for others its more of an ongoing battle for one personality to win out. This inbalance can lead to acts that "one would not normally commit". This can be as benign as shoplifting, or as dangerous as murder. As I say in my article: "How many times have you, or someone you know done something that was "out of character"? Did you ever do something you regret when you were drunk? Or just something you regret and when you look back say "What was I thinking?" http://esylum.blogspot.com/2005/07/in-tw... My neuroscience teacher in college told me that people with schizophrenia have the poorest quality of life because they are sick, they know they are sick, and they know there is not much they can do about it. Of course those with schizophrenia usually need medication to keep them stable, but most will lack the aggression and cold-heartedness that it takes to murder someone. They are actually much more likely to kill themselves. A schizophrenic family member |
