Schizophrenia and xanax?


Can xanax be used to help people with Schizophrenia?

You would have to ask a competent physician who is qualified to answer this question and one who is familiar with schizophrenia.
Xanax is a brand name for a group of drugs called benzodiazepines.They are one of the most highly addictive drugs and become addictive after only 2 to 4 weeks.. Trying to withdraw can be dangerous without a doctors supervision. The withdrawal symptoms are terrible.Some doctors only prescribe Xanax for a few weeks.
So,please speak with a doctor who is knowledgeable about useful drugs for schizophrenia.
Its used for people with anxiety disorders.
Xanax is a anti-anxiety agent, and I have never heard of it used to treat schizophrenia.
