Understanding schizophrenia, why do these people hear voices? |
just a family trying to understand it all No one knows why they hear voices but they do and they are very real to these people. it;s part of the brain that shorts out and makes it like that,my son was hearing voices that told him to hurt someone and he got on different meds and has not heard those voices for awhile now,i hope they never come back as they were scary for him and me and all the animals,,,with counseling and meds we can work thru it now .... What I am about to say does not in anyway suggest that schizophrenia is not real. I am certain it is, without a doubt.., and in that, I cant help you understand.., except that it has to due with neurons misfiring and or chemical imbalances in the brain. However - I am a firm believer that there are life forms (humanoid, or perhaps even human and animals, etc) that exist on a wavelength we can not see or touch. There are some scientists that believe this is possible, but so far not provable. Follow me? Now, suppose "some" of these schizophrenic patients are misdiagnosed and actually hearing voices from these denizens we cant see. Maybe even see them in some cases! Since we have no proof, and this is never allowed as a possibility, science has no way to test to see if perhaps the way these people's brains are wired, they are sensitive to hearing and seeing these potentially real people who exist on a level we cant fathom (presently). This has never been given any serious thought and very much rejected as stupid by some very arrogant scientists and psychologists. But hey, there are many things that take place in the real world science doesn't fully understand. Other considerations .., of the planets, did Pluto not exist until it was discovered? It in fact existed before discovery. Did Gravity not exist until someone validated it? of course not. Gravity existed and exists despite discovery. In fact science still does not completely understand Gravity despite the vast accumulation of knowlege available. I could go through the list, but you get the point. I too and the rest of my family are trying to understand schizophrenia that has affected my step mom. And its sooo strange when we ask the professionals that are helping her to help us understand and we hear a different answer each time, as if they dont understand it either. I know its a complicated issue and I'm not expecting all the answers, but after reading the report cards on mental illness for our country .......... i am begining to understand why this is more than just an issue, its an epidemic in our country. This is where I go every now and then to link up with a vast amount of info, research and message boards related to mental illness: http://www.nami.org/ I wish you and your family the best :) the schizophrenic has lost sight of the single principle: how everything works they have lost this principle, therefore the method of meditating fails and those closest to them become mired in intellectual discussion of what could have happened, what should have happened, what technique to use or what might do. soon, not only the schizophrenic but those closest to him will become quarrelsome and depressed they have have lost the path of simple consciousness, they have entered the labyrinth of cleverness, competition, and imitation they have forgot that all creation is a unity, allegiance goes to lesser wholes such as family, the home team or the company these voices that are heard arise when consciousness of unity is lost the voices take sides and favour this versus that From speaking with them and interviewing them... I honestly believe (although it is different in each and every case) that they believe that their inner dialog belongs to someone outside themselves. I'm certain that all of us have had flashes of negative thoughts from time to time, irrational or horrible second to second thoughts, that we understand belong to us, and therefore have the power and self control to not only distinguish that fact from fantasy, but to make a choice as a result to ignore it or listen to it. I don't think that these people understand that? and they honestly hear things that seem rational to them as if it were someone else telling them to do or hear or believe something anyone else would pass off as a passing fancy and ignore. From their art work (many people I worked with were artists) they have a different sense of reality, a strange way of filtering light and sound and colors. Like when child sees a bunny in the clouds and understands that it is not actually a giant bunny, the schizophrenic mind can't tell the difference between real and fantasy. I believe that they lack that filter? http://sensitive-psychoworld.blogspot.co... |
