How is Schizophrenia passed from person to another?

Is it hereditary or the result of a spontaneous gene mutation?

it can b inherited through the genes,but one person in the family could get it and the other can b fine

Its not passed from one person to another. Schitzophrenia is not contagious.

Schizophrenia has been observed to be congenital, that is passed on within the family. Heart disease, depression, or great intelligence is also congenital.

Any congenital condition is passed on through the genes. Whether a single gene or a combination of several genes which form a pattern is still the subject of debate and experimentation.
