My girlfriend has schizophrenia, how can I help? What can we do?

She is 15. She has had it for about a month. She has had just about every symptom to a certain extent. She thinks that she is the only person in existance, literaly. She says that there is no proof that I, or anyone else is real. She hears voices, and one has revealed it's name to her. How can help her?

firstly my brother is schizophrenic and it can not under any circumstances be cured with anything it can be treated with medications and controlled taking her to a church wont help her directly or cure her though it could help build friendships for her taking natural medicines wont help her either what she needs is medical help before her symptoms get worse and trust me they do with time having done some research you should already know that schizophrenia is a chemical in balance in the brain although some do believe it is spirits contacting them as well which i have my self have seen evidence of this happening but your sister really needs medical help before she gets to ill and either hurts herself or some one else Source(s): caring for my scizophrenic brother

How do you know that she has schizophrenia? It could be a number of things like bipolar or even severe depression. First of all you should suggest that she gets counseling and a professional diagnoses. Then once she is properly diagnosed she will be put on medicine depending what is wrong with her. The things that you can do after her diagnoses is to help her to remember her meds and also for you to read all the info you can on her diagnoses. there are a lot of helpful sites out there on the net. yes, parents would have to be the one to do something for her. If they can't or won't, maybe you could talk to a nurse or couselor at school.

Okay, since she is a minor she can get help through the state. Call the county first. County Health Department for the one she lives in. She needs help, and your a true friend for wanting to be there.
One of the first things she will need is a complete physical to rule out some things.
There are support groups you and any one else can go to that will help you learn to cope.
