Does smoking marijuana cause schizophrenia?

And why do some people think this is the only cause of it. I know a girl who has it and has never smoked a bit in her life.
If it causes this, why do doctors prescribe it for AIDS and Cancer?

when you smoke marijuana its causes paranoia which is a contributing factor to schizophrenia so therefore the more you smoke the more chance there is that you will become a paranoid schizophrenic.

marijuana does not cause schizophrenia, but if someone with schizophrenia smokes they are more likely to freak out.

Marijuana is given to AIDS and Cancer patients to help increase appetite and decrease gastrointestinal distress.

i don't know who tell you 'smoking marijuana cause schizophrenia' but no matter whoever it is he/she fudge very well. i'm at university and studing psychologyand physiology, so naturally we re learning the syndromes reasons of morbidities,ill-healths..
marijuana causes mental delusions then maybe you are paranoid as they terrify you...

It causes alot of things.. Phycosis, Schizo, Depression etc.. N they prescribe it for people with cancer or AIDS cos it helps ease the pain etc..

Where is it written that marijuana is the "only cause of it" [schizophrenia]? Additionally, Illegal drug use can cause a drug-induced psychosis, even between usage. I was officially diagnosed as having a drug-induced psychosis when, at the age of 19, was institutionalized for three days.
