Can avoidence of stress indicate schizophrenia?

My gf's father has scizophrenia and I constantly wonder if she might have it. She gets very defensive and withdrawled about simple things-she claims it is because the simplest thing stresses her out. If you push her she gets mad crazy. Like I argue with her bc she won't clean anything. She claims it stresses her out. Or when she constantly is late for work. It's like I can say anything or she gets seriouslt pissey. She always claims that she has to come about doing things in her own way without feeling pressured but ends up doing nothing at all! Her desire for routined work concerns me too. She studied a great major in college and has been offered promotions and slary increase but denies them for simple data entry-whcih she enjoys doing day in and day out (its been 3yrs). Is this just laziness or a potential mental disorder?

It doesn't sound like schizophrenia to me. Sounds like a personality trait that might have been helped by her stress of growing up with an unreliable and unsupportive father (because of his illness).
I would say it's probably a little of both. She has some mental problems because of her dad. Monkey see monkey do.
I would not say that avoidance of stress causes schizophrenia. However, in any case of unusual behavior, it is important to get competent advice, diagnosis and treatment by skilled and trained professionals.
It doesn't sound like schizophrenia, but it could be another disorder. She could have general anxiety disorder, spurred on by being raised in what I can assume would be a high-stress household.
