Does one need to have Schizophrenia in order to be actually diagnosed with "flat affect"?

If someone is diagnosed with "flat affect" does that mean they have schizophrenia or can you be diagnosed (by a doctor) without having flat affect?

I'm Schizophrenic.
I have never had the flat effect. Not all Schizophrenics have it.
To be diagnosed with Schizophrenia you must have both positive and negative symptoms of Schizophrenia.
Flat effect is a negative symptom of Schizophrenia, however having it without other symptoms does not indicate Schizophrenia. It is possible to have any of the symptoms of Schizophrenia in any combination or by themselves.

You do not have to have a diagnosis of it to have the flat effect.
You do not need to be Schizophrenia to be 'Flat Affect"
