No, you need more than one symptom to be diagnosed with schizophrenia. Delusions can be a symptom of several other conditions or even a side effect from medication or exhaustion.

No. The DSM-IV-TR presents a number of disorders that may include this symptom. For example, the DSM identifies severe bipolar I disorder, (297.1) delusional disorder grandiose type, and perhaps (297.3) shared psychotic disorder. Clinically, I have seen severe Narcissistic Personality Disorder, where the a pt's grandiosity approached delusional.

No, a lot of politicians, college professors and artists with public funding have them. Some of them even have delusions of adequacy. All it takes is stubbornnness and a weird world view.
