Are you ashamed fo having schizophrenia? |
I've had schizophrenia since age 14. IT is not a disorder.......it is a deadly disease. i would not be ashamed of it and neither SHOULD you. why would anyone be ashamed of something they couldn't help? proper councilling helps Being ashamed of living with schizophrenia is like a diabetic feeling ashamed for shooting insulin, there shouldn't be anything shameful about a medical condition. However, mental illness seems to carry a certain stigma, maybe a few more years and it won't. I don't think it is something to be ashamed of at all... you cant change it.. you have to embrace it... you have no other choice. Best of luck =) It is truly a mental disorder not a disease so please dont confuse yourself. You do not need to be ashamed, there are many people who are like this and it can be controlled to a degree. Please keep in touch with your doctor. Most people with the worst cases of schizophrenia dont even know they have the problem. I fyou know it then it can be controlled. Good luck! From me and me! would you be ashamed to have cancer?? It is equally a debilitating disease. It's not a deadly disease it is a gift. Who knows maybe you and I are the two who will help the ones who refuse to even trying to jelp themselves or talk about it. As the same with you my doctors say I have child Psychosis/schizophrenia. It is called Child if it is below age 18. |
