Ever come off meds for schizophrenia, anxiety & depression?

If anyone has successfully tapered off meds for schizophrenia, anxiety & depression, or stopped cold turkey after several years (14) of being on them? Please tell me how and how it went & what you experience now or experienced then without them?

It is very dangerous to stop any of these meds cold turkey!!! the benzos are the worse you can die, I am recently out of rehab and seen alot of the patients almost die. they had me on phenobarbital and methadone so i wouldn't have a seizure, that is the protocol they do in rehabs , my suggestion to you is to check into one or have the Dr. who prescribed these meds to tell you the proper way to stop ,,, but PLEASE don't do it on your own>> good luck to you !!!
If the diagnosis was correct, no medicine for schizophrenia should be discontinued. With the anxiety and depression I wonder what your diagnosis is.
it can be rough. there will be permanent neurological rewiring . do you believe your cured ? schizophrenia ....does it ever go away ? I was on effixer..high doses...it made me emotionally numb ! paxil really sucked. seroquel has been proven detrimental...lots of law suits you may be able to collect on.
good luck.
I was on a lot of different ones for anxiety/depression.... Celexa, Lexapro, Paxil, Remeron, and a whole bunch I can't (and don't want to) remember. None seemed to have any truly beneficial effect. Consequently, I didn't notice much of a difference when I got off them despite the warnings. The only thing that helped me was properly applied cognitive therapy. I say "properly applied" because it apparently doesn't work as much as it should. I suspect that in those cases where it doesn't, it's either too much medication is currently in use, or the therapist and/or the patient aren't applying it properly. All I know is it has worked wonderfully for me. Needless to say, I have been left with a less than favorable opinion of drugs and doctors. (except for the doctor who wrote the book that saved my life). You are welcome to read my story here:

Now as far as schizophrenia goes, I can't say you should get off meds for that as I have no experience with it. Depression and anxiety, though, are an entirely different story.
