Is this a sign of schizophrenia? |
I was just reading about schizophrenia b/c i think my mom is but hasnt been diagnosed(she refuses) anyways I was just looking through some questions on here and someone wrote that one sign is voices...i have interal dialogue all the time...its not like i hear outside voices telling me to do things or anything like that but its sort of like i am talking to myself but not saying it outloud...does anyone else have internal dialogue like this? I have studied psychology extensively throughout college and i thought that this was normal ...???? Its normal, forget it. Psychology is a LOT of self-important "psycho-babble" The more time you actually spend interacting with the REAL world and the LESS time spent moping around in yer own head, the better you will do. (FACT - check it out for yerself...) internal discussions with self are normal, however actually hearing other voices and talking to them and letting them dictate what you do, is schitzoid Sounds normal. When you're at war with the voices or they're terrifying you, that's a good sign. internal dialogue is normal - I do it all the time My first wife was a full blown paranoid-schizo and when she was hearing voices it was not like an internal dialogue which is what I think you are calling normal - which it is. Usually hallucinations go along with the voices. Disorientation and, if paranoid, everybody is out to get you. Lol.....something around 90% of the people in the world have the same exact experience about 90% of their waking life. So, no, that is in no way a sign of schizophrenia. Of course, if the content of that self-talk is disturbed (oh my God, the CIA is talking to me through the TV again) then that could be a sign of schizophrenia. are what the voices are saying make rassional sence or not? it they do then I would think nothing of it and see if you can find other answers. who knows you might have a gift |
