Has anyone here ever dealt with schizophrenia before. I am curious what it really is like?

What you feel, if you really hear actual voices and I guess just what you feel like?

I have not personally dealt with this illness but I know people who have. I do have a website here that might help you.

I'd tell you, but there's an elephant running around my bathtub and the moon is screaming at me.

Have you ever had something go wrong and you swore and blamed someone who turned out to be completely innocent? It's like that.
it is a out there disorder but with the right meds somebody can lead a happy life. my husband suffers from this, and u do hear voices and feel like somebody else is taking over, some people start thinking that UFOs are coming. watch the movie fight club
I work in Mental Health. There are varying degrees to which this illness effects people, most people lead perfectly normal and average type lives like the rest of us, however if they have been prescribed with medication and they choose not to take it , it can have an enormous impact on their daily lives. often they become paranoid and believe the government is watching them, that there are hidden cameras wherever they go which are there just to spy on them. even their closest loved ones can become suspicious to them, i have one client who wont wear her diamond rings becoz she believes her husband has put cameras into them to watch her, she wont bring certain items into her house becoz she truly thinks they have microphones inside them and shez being listened to. another one of my clients thinks God talks secrets to her and not to any body else.... i could go on all day about my experiences with this illness, but the positives are that if someone has good support from healthcare professionals, family, friends etc, then they can live productive happy lives, dont judge them, just try to be understanding and treat them as you would everyone else.
I went out with a guy with schizophrenia he was the nicest guy but hay when he snapped there is no getting through to him. And voices oh yeah he thought the nurses were trying to kill him so there fore he wouldnt take any drugs for the problem. Its a sad world to live in. We could be out driving he would snap and become a dam fool on the road scared the hell out of me and he had this wicked laugh that he would do but he just kept laughing that was scary too.
