About how many people suffer from Schizophrenia? |
About how many people suffer from Schizophrenia? Approximately 1% of the total population. The onset of schizophrenia is usually later adolescence or early adulthood. Yes, it does tend to run in families. Source(s): I have an M. A. in Psychology 7. I wish I could give you a number but I think it is one of the saddest things that can happen. A person goes along with a normal life, cheerleader, football player and then poof about 18-22, they just gradually slide into schizophrenia to never return again. I know someone who married early had 4 kids and then his wife became schizo, isn't this sad ? He loved her ,now what, you dont' just dump them but they are nearly imposssible to live with and yet it is only like they got an illness like chicken pox in their brain. About one percent of the population. http://www.nimh.nih.gov/healthinformatio... Millions! of all kinds! |
