Would you voluntarily have a child with schizophrenia?

for parents with a child with schizophrenia......if you were to go back in time before the child was born and somebody told you that this is what would happen...would you have aborted the fetus....to prevent this tragedy from ocurring?

my child has a host of other problems but not schizophrenia. No I would not abort. Nor would I have aborted my daughter. all children need love and attention. Regardless of any problems they have. that would be selfish to say "I don't want want a child with such and such a problem" it gives more thought to what YOU want and not to the childs NEEDS.

If you can't handle it - there are plenty of people wanting to adopt. You take what life gives you.

No,that would still be my child and I would have a big challenge to deal with if god bless you with a child it was meant to be .
I think it depends on whether the child would rather suffer from schizophrenia and live, or die. The answer lies in observing how life is between the child and those around him or her. Love knows no bounds.
I dont have a chid yet but if I did & if a doctor told me that it woud have schizophrenia, it would be sad yes but it wouldn't make me want to abort my baby...it would just need special care & medicine and all my love:)
I would not hesitate to abort any fetus I knew had a lifetime of hell awaiting it. That would be selfish. No way to detect schizophrenia yet.
