Is there any hope for someone with hebephrenic schizophrenia? |
My daughter is sectioned and diagnosed with this, i have just got back from visiting her, a very sad experience. That's one of those things that you cannot imagine until it happens. She is still that special person to you, that does not go away no matter how strange and alienated you are left feeling, and however she acts, she will continue to need your strength, love and support, so to answer your question, YOU are her hope. Hang in there for her! (And make sure there is someone else to hang in there for you!) If you are in the UK, contact Rethink, they are brilliant and will support you.experience yes there is always hope. i suffer from paranoid schizophrenia and it is controlled by a drug called olanzapine. i go through periods where i dont take it as i feel well but then i get sick again and start hurting myself. the last time i tried to kill myself and it nearly worked. there is always hope for people like us but it takes a long time and you will need to be strong for her. i hope that this gives you some hope. There is always hope. Keep going, she will get better but it will take time Experiance from working in a MH Hospital I suffer with mental illness. I can tell you its going to be a hard slog for you both. Ive never heard of that type of schizophrenia maybe you could contact me and we can have a chat about it. The only advice I can give like this is you both must work with the illness and not fight against it. I found this out the hard way. Good luck to you and please feel free to contact me anytime for a chat. xxx |
