How do you live with a person that has schizophrenia? |
She is my Love of my Life and Its hard to understand her behaviors It is very difficult. My father was schizophrenic and so is my nephew. I understand exactly what you're talking about. I never knew what I was walking into when I walked through the door every day. At one point some stupid dr took my dad off his meds and he went off the wall. Voices, hallucinations etc. Happened to my nephew too. You just have to realize they don't choose this and it's not their fault. Empathy is the key here. And they MUST continue with meds . . once they get it into their head that they're feeling better and stop taking them it is very hard to get them to take them again because by this point they are paranoid and don't trust anyone. Is the nature of the illness. I would definitely read up on it since you don't have any past experience with it. Best of luck and many blessings to you. The best way I've found to "understand" is through educating yourself and support groups. I'm sure there are a few in your area you might want to check them out |
