IS PSYCHIATRY SCIENTIFIC AND DANGEROUS?

What Is The Future For Psychiatry?

My hope is that many persons will be able to avoid the use of the dangerous, poorly researched drugs provided by the pharmaceutical industry for use in psychiatric conditions. Safe effective natural therapies .are available to treat schizophrenia and depression. Natural therapies will never become widely used because of the pharmaceutical industry鈥檚 control over the media and their full support by U.S. government agencies(FDA, NIH,).

Psychiatry is a complete fraud and the problems caused by the drugs used(gastrointestinal bleeding, tardive dyskinesia, etc.) by these practitioners have, as usual, been covered up or ignored. Making money for drug companies has taken precedence over careful scientific research searching for truth in the interests of piling up bigger profits for an enormously wealthy industry.

At this time psychiatry is a very valuable asset for the pharmaceutical industry. Psychiatrists are busy writing prescriptions for drugs all day long. The prospects for the future are even brighter, as more and more Americans of all age brackets are recruited by programs aimed at having every living man, woman and child taking a psychoactive drug daily. No , actually it could be very dangerous for that person not to seek help. Cause they could end up going off sometime in the future. And it would be very dangerous for them and the people around them. Links, i am sorry but i believe it is better for you to see someone in person, so they can watch your body laug., and eyes, and facial expression, and if you are nerves, there are a lot of signs that need to be seen in person, not on an internet, that they may not be trained to be helping you in the first place.
self, hospitals, people i have know, doctor, and nurses, case managers, and therapist, and much more.
the answer is no. people who are mentally ill should seek psychiatric help to avoid hurting themselves and others.
Schizophrenia is thought to be a progressive disease, so the longer you wait to get help, the more brain damage you will get. People with schizophrenia whose condition is caught early respond to medication very much better than people who go without treatment for years.

I have bipolar, and when I research that condition, I see a lot on schizophrenia too. Bipolar is also thought to get worse with time, and I can say in my case, that is true.

People with schizophrenia and bipolar who are autopsied after death show brain damage, and the people who took their meds had less or none.
Well, that's not an easy answer. In a perfect world with perfect psychiatric treatments, maybe the answer is yes, but in this world? It really depends.

While schizophrenia is said to cause brain damage and psychosis can be nothing more than an unpleasant experience for some, for others the choice between treatment, stigma and reality or fantasy and psychosis may be much less than easy. Not everyone who is psychotic is going to go on some murderous rampage. Sometimes the medication is more damaging to the person than the illness or at least less tolerable causing a wealth of physical and psychiatric symptoms. Sometimes after psychotic episodes, people who suffer from schizophrenia experience major depressive episodes too.

I realize that the risks of unmedicated mental illness is much higher than medicated illness, but does that mean one should be locked up or medicated? Certainly not. If a person is not an immediate danger to himself or others, I believe that person should be allowed to make a choice on treatment. Alternative therapies should be available, yes, but that's not exactly psychiatriac these days now is it? Will it end well? Who knows, is it really important? I don't think so. Death, pain and suffering is a reality for everyone whether mentally ill or not. It may be an unfortunate life, but for many a life of medication is hardly a life at all. That's not to say that no one should be medicated. For some, medication is a blessing. Let the people choose.
