Would you waste your time datig someone who has schizophrenia or go out with someone that's not? |
i find that i'm wasting my time dating someone that has this disease when i can be with someonethat does not have this disease. I like this Question. you see this is like saying should I date someone who is green or stick to my own kind, or should I date someone in a wheelchair or someone who walks. You see schizophrenia is only a mental illness that affects the person who has it but with proper diet and medications this person can lead a normal life. Sometimes the ideals and thoughts that spring from their minds may sound radical, this is because the mind is racing & it's hard for them to get the proper thoughts out, other times these thoughts may have a profound enlightenment for all mankind.Sir Issac Newton was thought to have schizophrenia look at what he accomplished.Emily Carr the writer, Edger Cayce the sleeping prophet, without them where would all the real dreams and radical new ideas come from.Van Gogh etc..etc...etc.. You should just follow your Heart, if you like this person and their behaviour bothers you try to think off what it would be like being in their shoes... remember we are not here to judje others we are here to live life with all it has to offer. In Native American culture schizo's were thought of to be gifted because of their abilities to see what others could not.Sometimes this is all it takes for us to open our eyes and minds to different points off view. Science says that we only use 10 percent off our brains...what if the people with Schizophrenia are using a higher percent 11 or 12.. could this be why their minds race fster then everyone else's??.anyways follow your heart ... if you like them you like them if you don't you don't... P.S I was diagnosed about 2002 with it..so I have alot of first hand knowledge about it.. I agree... i agree you need to realize that you cannot help this person, that you cannot make them better. they are who they are, and you have to decide if you can live with that or not. if not, drop them now, before it gets worse. you are wasting your time dating a schizophrenic unless you like unhappiness and not knowing what will happen next. You shouldn't be with or not be with Someone because of an illness they have. The bottom line is if you think this is something you should pursue and you really want to be with this person, you will have to except that this is a part of them and help them along the way. If you feel that you don't want to be with this person in general or you can't see yourself being too serious with this person, you shouldn't pursue the relationship. If you can't handle the situation then you should do what's best for you so that you can maintain your emotional, mental and physical strength. Good luck to you and your partner. If you love them it's not a waste. Paul McCartney's wife has a prosthetic leg, is he wasting his time with her? You can waste your time flipping through a TV Guide, waste time watching commercials.... you do not waste your time in love. Unless this person has ever hurt you(and if they have, ditch 'em) or threatened you, why would you leave them? Look at it the other way... you are who you are. What if someone said they were wasting their time dating you because you were---- (fill in the blank, short, tall, straight haired, curly haired etc). Wouldn't make you feel too good, would it? |
