About two years ago I got a diagnosis of schizophrenia. Yet I don't believe I have this disease. Solution?

Who has been in a similar dilemma? How can I investigate this?

My psychiatrist said some time after she made this diagnosis that I don't seem sick.

Source(s): A DDD patient for over 40 years. DDD = Dopamine Dysfunction Disorder; a label which has been suggested to replace the label schizophrenia which is scientifically meaning less.
A lot of times the psychiatrist misdiagnoses. They have to diagnose based on what you choose to tell them, and even if you are trying to be honest, you can't be accurate in what you say. She may have diagnosed you with that because you had psychosis, but depression, PTSD and bipolar can cause psychosis, too, and those condtions can resolve temporarily, or permanently (well, not bipolar). So if you were so sick at the time that she thought you had schizophrenia, there probably was a serious episode of SOMETHING at the time, and maybe it has resolved (temporarily? hopefully permanently, but probably not).

Good luck!!
She is being a smart alec. You may well become that ill but until you have had your psychotic episode you are A-OK. Just start to undo the pressure on your brain. You have expectations about sex and love that are in error. Let yourself be prepared to be shunned socially as you find you belong in another group of people, the outsiders. Pick your friends on the same wave band and be in a safe place.
